Festival of Sail 2014 features an expanded events area, with more booths to explore, larger kids zone, vintage boat display, stage for live entertainment, beer garden, and lots more to see and do.
Festival of Sail is the LARGEST Tall Ship festival on the west coast and is hosted at the Maritime Museum of San Diego, transforming the North Embarcadero over Labor Day weekend into a nautical theme park for 4 adventure filled days.
Thursday we start with a Tall Ship Parade! Watch the ships majestically sail into San Diego bay, enjoy cannon fire salutes, and seeing the ships end their journey at the Maritime Museum's docks. A limited number of tickets are made available to participate being aboard during the tall ship parade.

Daily Activities during Festival of Sail include but not limited to: enjoy the visiting ships and crew, kids petting zoo, kids craft activities, face painting, beer garden, live on stage entertainment, Naval reenactors, photo ops with Captain Sunny and Pirates, and 100's of arts and craft vendors, plus a multitude of food options, and so much more.
Add-on events such as Tall Ship, cannon battles, mid-day sails, twilight sails, America's Cup sailing experience, and 30 minute bay cruises can both be purchased online and at the "Boating Activities Booth" just north of the "Berkeley" steam ferry

Do I have to buy tickets online? No, Festival of Sail tickets are available for purchase at the museum. If you are buying a boating activity (cannon battle, mid-day sail, etc), we encourage purchasing ahead of time online. Walk-ups can purchase boating activity tickets at the "Boating Activity Booth" just north of the Berkeley Steam Ferry, these sell quickly, check schedule early.
I want to purchase a boating activity ticket but the ticket shows unavailable? The day of the event, we shut off online boating activity tickets (cannon battle, mid-day sail, etc) for that day approx 3~4 hours before the event to allow walk-up tickets sales. If the event is marked "SOLD OUT", there are no more spots available.
I'm here at the Festival, where do I buy a boat ride? All the boating activity tickets (cannon battle, mid-day sail, etc) are handled at the "Boating Activities Booth" on the Embarcadero just north of the Berkeley Ferry Boat. Can I get on the Ships? YES, all of the visiting ships plus all the Maritime ships are open to view. Included with your ticket is a passport, as you visit you will receive a stamp in your passport of that ship.
Road Closure Notice: Harbor Drive south bound lanes are closed between Grape and Ash street. Reopens Tuesday September 2rd 6:30am. Road area used for expanded venue, plan your drive accordingly. Coaster, trolley, MTB, and parking lot locations are listed below.

Festival of Sail is a special 4 day event. Returns, coupons, passes, general admission, and seafarer passes are not valid during the 4 days of Festival of Sail. A Festival of Sail Ticket or Maritime Museum of San Diego Membership are required to enter.NO PETS ALLOWED
