The Summer/Fall 2009 Mains’l Haul features a catalogue-style issue which accompanies our current exhibit – Masterpieces in Miniature. This full-color, 24-page publication showcases each miniature ship model on display, noting its actual size, a concise history of the origins of the model including the various techniques and materials used. As you browse both the issue and the exhibit you will no doubt be in awe of the extraordinary skill and craftsmanship of each ship modeler represented. Among them are the world’s best, including Lloyd McCaffery, Donald McNarry, Gus Agustin, Robert Fivehouse, Robert Hewitt, Tim Riggs, Phil Toy and Herbert Falkland Seeley. It is truly a remarkable journey into the exquisite world of miniatures, where ships are crafted to a scale of 1/16 inch to 1ft. – impossibly small, astonishing to behold.
