Festival of Sail- Tall Ship Parade.
Everybody loves a parade, but in this parade you join in the fun and lead the visiting ships into San Diego bay!
Join the celebration as part of the flotilla of ships that sails into San Diego Bay to kick off Festival of Sail 2011! Be on board the official tall ship of California, the Californian, as she leads the parade of ships down San Diego Bay and to their docking spaces at the Maritime Museum.
Dates: Sept 1st, 2011*
Boarding Times: 8:30am

2011 TALL SHIP PARADE ORDER:
Parade begins at 11am on Thursday, Sept. 1st at Shelter Island and will proceed towards the Coronado Bridge and turn back towards Seaport village and come to the Maritime Museum of San Diego to dock at approx 1:30pm.

*FAQ:
- Does the $35/25 dollar ticket for the parade include admission to the FOS event?
- It does not. Only the parade sail and admission to the museum, San Salvador site, and its exhibits for Thursday 9-1-11 only.
- The parade sail is on Thursday 9-1-11?
- Yes, a day before Festival of Sail officially opens.
- Can I show up at 8:30am?
- No, you need to be checked in by 8:30, we suggest you allow yourself a half hour to make sure you don't miss the boat.
- Where do we check-in to board the Californian?
- Check-in at the white information booth in front of the Berkeley ferry boat.
- Are there restrooms on board the Californian?
- Yes (in boat speak they are called heads).
- Where is the best place to park?
- Recommended parking at the lot on the corner of Harbor Drive and Broadway. Or take the trolly or Coaster.
WHAT TO BRING:
If you are prone to sea-sickness please take medication prior to departure. It is a good idea to bring a hat, jacket or sweater, sunscreen, and ear protection. Snacks and soft drinks will be for sale on board.
